Someone is interested in investigating the effect of having teachers follow a structured protocol for co-planning instruction. He says that he will use a correlational analysis to determine if using a structured protocol for co-planning instruction has an effect on academic achievement and teacher efficacy. a. Tell the student why a correlational analysis is inappropriate for this type of research question. In your response, tell the student what information a correlational analysis provides. b. 1) correlation analysis is used to find out if there is any association between the structured protocol and variables teacher efficacy and academic achievement. It is not an appropriate method for this research because the teacher want to know if there is any effect of structured protocol on teacher efficacy and academic achievement, but the correlation analysis is not sufficient to tell us about the net effect and it can only shows us that there is some effect or not.

2) Chi-squared test will be a good option for conduting this analysis because it is better than correlation analysis as it provides us with the net effect and it also tells us whether the structured protocol shows any effect on two variables. Chi-squared test will also help us in determining if the effect is significant or not.
