The following is called a two-way table and it shows the counts across two categories: use this Information to answer the question. a. What type of hypothesis test should be used here? b. State the null and alternative hypotheses in words. H_0: H_a: C. What is the probability of finding a sample like this if gender and type of childhood pet are independent (the p-value)? d. If your level of significance (alpha) is 0.05, what conclusion do you draw?Explanation / Answer
Here we have to compare to sets of data and test for some hypothesis.
1. For such same subject parametric tests, we use Paired t Test.
2. Null Hypothesis: The type of the pet is independent of the gender.
Alternative Hypothesis: Type of pet is not in depended of gender.
3. p = 0.321 which is greater than 0.05 hence, there is not a statistically significant difference between Female and Male.
4. For alpha equal to 0.05, as written in part 3, there is not a statistically significant difference.
