Question
Anne is employed by Cory Contracting Company. Cory has a $1.3 million contract to build a small group of outbuildings in a national park. Anne alleges that Cory Contracting has discriminated against her, in that she has not been promoted to skilled craft positions with Cory because it thinks that it is inappropriate for women to be in skilled craft positions and that most of the male skilled craft workers are very much against having women in such positions. Knowing that Bradley Cory Contracting has a contract with the federal government, Anne brings suit against Bradley Cory under Executive Order 11246 for gender discrimination. Will she be successful? Why or why not?
Explanation / Answer
According to me , yes Anne will be sucessful . Anne is aware about all the rules and regulations of his company related to her promotions. she is also aware about her company standard and also she is aware about the rules of the company that they must abide by as having contract with the federal goverment. its doesnot matter if their opinion is against Anne being in the position if she is qualified. Bradley contracting co has a 1.3 million dollar contact. The executive order also require goverment contractor to take affirmative actions to ensure that equal apportunity is provided in all aspects of their employment. under executive order 11246 Anne is covered because it also requires contractor to take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employes are also treated during their employment without any type of discrimination like race , color, religion , sex or national origin.
