A. Identify the sample.
B. Identify the population.
C. Would you consider this a random sample? Why or why not?
D. Explain why response bias is a potential issue in this study.
E. Explain why non-response bias is a potential issue in this study.
F. Is this an observational or experimental study? Explain why.
Explanation / Answer
Here part E and F is specifically asked
(E) Nonresponse bias is the bias that results when respondents differ in meaningful ways from nonrespondents. Nonresponse is often problem with mail surveys, where the response rate can be very low. So, in this survey when they are asked that they had ever cheated on an exam, the students due to guilty conscience may not given any answer or response that decrease the randomness of the sample.
(F) The study is observational study. It is because they are not part of any experiment and they are just merely observed and their response has been taken.
