Question
Administration wants to determine if student performance in mathematics differs significantly by class period or by teacher. 4 teachers were evaluated over the 7 periods they teach.
At a 0.05 significance level, can you conclude that there is a difference in the mean math score by class or by teacher?Use the six steps of hypothesis testing and MS Excel in completing the analysis. For credit you must show these!
Class T1 90 90 85 72 92 85 90 T2 87 78 84 85 95 75 93 79 83 80 90 82 84 79 T4. 80 76 62 62 82 62Explanation / Answer
null hypothesis: student have equal score irrespective of teacher and class
alternate hypothesis :student have differnt score for at least one class or teacher
level of significance=0.05
from above given data: excel-data-data analysis kit-two way ANOVA without replication
from above p value for class is above 0.05 hence there is no significant effect of class
for p value is less then 0.05 for teacher there fore we reject null hypothesis and conclude that there is a difference in the mean math score by teacher
