x = no of vehicles arriving at signal during that cycle

in 40s we can expect 4 vehicles be arrived

P(x=5) = e^-4 * (4)^5/5!

= 0.1562

c)

P(x<5) = P(x=0) + ….+ P(x=5)

= e^-4 [ 4^0/1! + 4/1! + 4^2/2! + 4^3/3! + 4^4/4!]
