Question
A small regional dairy uses four machines to fill gallon jugs with milk. The quality control manager collected the following data on the observed amount of milk volume in quarts for randomly selected jugs… Machine 1: 4.05, 4.01, 4.02, 4.04 Machine 2: 3.99, 4.02, 4.01, 3.99 Machine 3: 3.97, 3.98, 3.97, 3.95 Machine 4: 4.00, 4.02, 3.99, 4.01 For each of the questions below, please respond with the p-value found when the test is run.Is there evidence that the median milk volume differs depending upon the machine doing the filling?
Explanation / Answer
We performed 1-way ANOVA to compare the 4 samples:
H0: no difference between any of them
Ha: difference exists
This is using MS Excel
since p-value>0.05; so we cant reject H0 at 5% level. So no difference between machines.
