Question
This is a three part probability question
We decide to play a game and bet money on it. Our game is to roll a fair four sided dice and flip a coin.
a. Create a sample space for our experiment.
b. You decide to put your money on rolling an even number. Call this event A. List all items in event A and calculate the probability of event A occurring.
c. Your friend bets that the dice will be have a number of more than 2 and the coin will show heads. Call this even B. What is the probability of event B occurring?
Explanation / Answer
a. Sample Space Here is the all the possibilities of the events.
so here sample space is (1,H), (2,H), (3,H), (4,H) , (1,T), (2,T), (3,T), (4,T)
where first number if the number of dice and second alphabet is either Head(H) or tail(T)
b. Even Number 2,and 4 .
sample sapce for A = (2,H), (4,H) , (2,T), (4,T)
P(A) = 2/4 = 1/2 = 0.50
c. Sample space of friend bet B = (3,H), (4,H)
P(B) = 2/8 = 1/4 = 0.25
