Question

This is the outcome of the ANOVA test on the production data of five factories R1 – R5. Research questions is to find which factory or factories have the best production?

A)(2pts) Write the Null-Hypothesis.
(B)(3pts) Write a report.
(C)(3pts) Do we know as a result of ANOVA test which factory or factories have the largest production or we need to do the follow-up tests? If we do need the follow-up tests which ones? Explain in no more than 3 lines.

Anova: Single Factor Groups Count Sum Average Variance 10 86/4 R3 90,3 34.9 88,7 R5 885 2872222 ofvariation Ms Between Groups 133.75 4.575257 0.003474 2578739 Within Groups 1315.5 45 25.23333 Total 1850.5

Explanation / Answer

a. null hypothesis - mean production of all the five factories are same

alternative hypothesis- mean production of all the five factories are all different /not same.

p-value 0.003 is less than the significant level 0.05 and F -test statistic is greater than the critical F -value ,we can reject the null hypothesis .

conclusion: The mean production of all five factories differ

.no anova test cannot tell which group have different mean ,that can be concluded using POST-TUSKEY AD-HOC TEST
