Distributing a questionnaire and collecting a data for analysis is called survey. The analysis of survey comprises of summarize the data with summary statistics, some charts and graphs.

The statistics used for analysis of this type of data is Descriptive statistics or Exploratory statistics.

Descriptive statistics only describes the data using measures of central tendency like Mean, Median, Mode or measures of spread of the data like variation, standard deviation, range etc. This technique also includes calculation of frequencies and percentages.

Representation of data using charts and graphs is also a part of descriptive statistics. It includes pie charts, bar charts, scatter plot etc.
