Question
in a random sample of 63 professional actors, it was found that 41 were extroverts.
I found the point estimate, just do not know how to find the 95 perfect confidence interval for p with the upper and lower limit. how do you do this on a calculator??
Explanation / Answer
Here pcap = 41/63 = 0.6508
For 95% CI, z-value =1.96
lower limit = 0.6508 - sqrt(0.6508*(1-0.6508)/63) = 0.5907
upper limit = 0.6508 + sqrt(0.6508*(1-0.6508)/63) = 0.7109
You can directly put above expression in excel to get your answer or use respective functions of "+", "-" and square root in your calculator.
Let me know if you are looking for some specific calculator.
