Vollmer Manufacturing makes three components for sale to refrigeration companies. The components are processed on two machines: a shaper and a grinder. The times (in minutes) required on each machine are as follows:

The shaper is available for 120 hours, and the grinder is available for 110 hours. No more than 200 units of component 3 can be sold, but up to 1000 units of each of the other components can be sold. In fact, the company already has orders for 600 units of component 1 that must be satisfied. The profit contributions for components 1, 2, and 3 are $8, $6, and $9, respectively.

To solve this problem you need to install the solver package in your excel

steps for installing solver package is as fallows

step1: go to file ,choose options ,then select add-ins then click on go then select solver add-ins.

solver package is to be installed.

a) Max 8*C1+6*C2+9*C3

s.t

6*C1+4*C2+4*C3<=7200

4*C1+5*C2+2*C3<=6600

first insert the problem in the excel sheet

then type the constraint in equation form and objective function as well.

then click on solver which are in the Data

in objective cell select cell in which you insert objective function in equation form

set objwctive as max and then add the constraint then select the method simlex lp (there 2 other option also apper but it ups to you which method you are interested to solve the constraint.) then click on solve the next window is appear namely as solver Results in that select keep solver solution and in Reports select sensitivity then click on ok.
