Their last names are Muhammad, Freedman, Richmond, and Hasan. From the following clues, each person’s full name and favorite type of music. Freedman hates country-western music. The classical-music lover said she’d teach Hasan to play the piano. Adele and Richmond knew the country-western fan in high school. First we try to identify the four different types of music in this problem. There's jazz. Freedman hates country-western music, and there is also a classical music lover. There is also a man who likes rock music. So, the four types of music are:

Now, it is said Richmond and Hasan are on the same bowling team and there are no men on their team. So, we can conclude Richmond and Hasan are women. So, Muhammad and Freedman are men.

Now, we know Adele and Richmond knew the country-western fan in high school. So, they are two different people. So, Adele's last name is not RIchmond, and thus is Hasan. Conversely, Rashida's last name will be Richmond. The classical music lover said she'd(a woman) teach Hasan to play the piano, and the only woman besides Hasan is Rashida Richmond. So, Rashida is the classical music lover. Freedman(a man) hates country-western music. Adele and Richmond knew the country-western fan in high school. So, the country-western fan is not one of them(hence, a man). Also, there is a man who likes country western music, and that is not Jamal. So it will be Mike. Thus Jamal is the Country-western lover.

The only music type left is Jazz, so Adele likes jazz. Also, Freedman hates Country-western music. So, Jamal's last name cannot be Freedman, and therefore is Muhammad. The final table is:
