For the same forest, consider any part of its area within one km of its perimeter as being part of the edge,ie, the forest interior is that portion at least one km from the perimeter. Calculate the area of the forest interior. Show your calculations. Hint: it is helpful to sketch this. B.

Here as we see that the area of forest is 15 km by 8 km and rectangular shape

so now any area closed to 1 km from the the edge is counted as part of the edge so there we will reduce two km from both sides of length and 2 km for both sides of the width

so interior area of the forest = (15-2) * (8-2) = 13 * 6 = 78 km2
