After you respond to the questions posed, please respond to another student's response. 1) What is the probability that when a card is selected at random from a standard deck, that you will pick a two or a club? Explain. 2) When rolling two dice, what sum on the dice is most probable? What is the probability? Other replies hidden until you reply Dashboard Calendar To Do Notifications InboxExplanation / Answer
1)probability of picking a two is 4/52 and probability of picking a club is also 13/52
so probability of pick a two or club = (4/52)+((13/52) = 17/52
2) 7 is the sum on the dice which is most probable when you roll two dice simultaneously.
because 7 is the sum which has highest no. of pairs like (1,6), (2,5), (3,4), (4,3), (5,2), (6,1).
if you consider sum 12 then it has only one pair i.e. (6,6) Which leads to 12. so it is not most probable.
so the chances of 7 will be 6/36 = 1/6
please give thumbs up.
