Explanation / Answer

a)

there can be two solutions depending on whether we can divide the tablet into small bits to make exactly 25mg or not.

Assuming we can divide the tablet:

every 6 hours 100 patient takes 25mg.

in a day there are 24 hours, every 6 hours means = 24/6 = 4 dose per day.

in a week number of doses = 4*7 = 28

if taking exact 25mg, and we have each tablet of 12.1 mg = 28*25/12.1 = 57.85 = 58 tablets

if dividing the tablet is not allowed:

total 28 doses, two tablets make = 12.1+12.1 = 24.2 mg

hence in each dose 2 tablets = 28*2 = 56 tablets.

b)

liquid can be easily measured and taken in required quantities:

12.1mg/5 ml

ml required for 25 mg = 25*5/12.1 = 10.33 ml

again 28 doses in a week = 28*10.33 = 289.24 ml
