A completely randomized single-factor experiment was conducted with three dosage levels, and the following results were obtained. Observations Dosage 20 g 30 37 37 31 35 30 g 40 g 42 47 52 38 (a) Is there evidence to indicate that dosage level affects bioactivity? Use a 0.05 (b) If it is appropriate to do so, make comparisons between the pairs of means. What conclusions can you draw? (c) Analyze the residuals from this experiment and com- ment on model adequacy.

a) Since the p - value of F test is less than significancc level i.e. 0.05, we reject the null hypothesis.

So the dosage level affects the bioactivity

b)

HSD[.05]=11.19; HSD[.01]=15.36
M1 vs M2 nonsignificant
M1 vs M3 P<.05
M2 vs M3 nonsignificant

So dosage 20 and dosage 40 are different at 0.05 level of significance.

c) R square = 60.99% which means 60.99% of variation of Y is explained by variance of independent variable.
