Question

Work carefully through this exercise the have competed should in the course the key understand the difference between type and type 2 errors, on Compose a question to compare the two groups: Height of college basketball players ls there a difference between 1ns helgnt et Now compose a pair of hypotheses ramps Ho No diff. bli hulght the two aller Height of players Height of college volley ball players This is your sample size As you can see from these frequency distributions, there is no difference in the heights of the two groups However can you place your sample on these distributions in such a way that analysis of your data would indicate that there is a significant difference between the two groups? If so, go ahead and do this. Height of players Imagine that you analyzed these two samples that you have shown above. Remember then Ho is true... there is no difference between the groups However, if you inadvertently chose the two samples shown would you reject Ho Nes, reject H would you be correct in doing this NO So, you have made an error you have rejected a true Ho. This is error. You have made a false claim. are diff when really they Is this a serious error C ux are tinq What step could reduce the chance of making this type of error? take a ampu Sree or put your threw hotel a reduce write a summary Shea et value A type note here to explain to yourself what is meant by a type error one error is, unen 1 difference between populations you concude trot there is a wasn't a or the aroups being Compared, unen there. difference. you reject your Null pothesis v en really wasnt a difference 18

Explanation / Answer

By obsering the last page graphs we note that the height of basketball players is symmetrically distributed while height of soccer players is positively distributed.

Hypothesis:

Ho: There is no significant difference in average height of football players and soccer players.

Ha1: The average height of football players is greater than the average height of soccer players.

Ha2: the average height of soccer players is greater than the average height of football players.

For rejecting Ho we will choose large samples from these two population. also it help us to reducing Type II error as well.

In this scenario Type II error is not too serious because given population is related to height of players, so not to worry for that.

Remaining blanks are already fill and they are correct too.
