b) New fine is 1.5 times the original fine. As the original fine for travelling "n" miles per hour in excess of the speed limit was f(n), the new fine is 1.5f(n)
c) As we have a buffer of 8 miles per hour, the new fine for travelling "n" miles per hour in excess of speed limit will be the old fine for travelling (n-8) miles per hour in excess of speed limit. That is, the new fine will be f(n-8)
