I can't figure these out. Anyone?
arlier in this unit we pointed out that each hormone has its own Exercise 16-3 Time to Trace! Negative Feedback Loops isturhance in the bomeustasis of a particular physiologic variable such as blood pressure, the concentration of glucose in the blood, or body is to act on distant target cells The hormone's response to cause changes that restore the variable to its normal range. When bomeostasis is restored, the activity of the glands and concentration of the hormone declines. This type of response is called a negative feedback loop. e feedback loop from the initial homeostatic disturbance, In this exercise you will Pe tracing a hormone's negativ the hormone in the blood. Following is an example Start: the concentration orgiacose in the land falls Blucagon in the blood rises throagh the honbones effects on its target cells to restore homeostasis, and finally the decline of the concentration of the pa mereas releas s gleap on-th-level ed the ?, mine the hormone glucagon causes glycogenolysis by the liver the concentration of glucose in the blood rises + the level of the hormone glucagon in the blood decreases End Now its your turn! Afer you have completed the activity, answer Check Your Uinderstanding question 6 (p. 444) 1 start: the concentration of the blood increases (i.e., there is inadequate esater in the blood) the hypothalamus releases the hormone and stores it in the + the stored hormone is released and so its level in the blood rises the hormone +the concentration of the wood the level of the hormone in the blood 16 2 Start: the concentration of glucose in the blood increases + the pancreas releases the hormone the level of the hormone in the blood risesthe hormone +blood glucose levels the level of the hormone End 3 Start: the concentration of calcium ions in the blood decreases + the parathyroid glands release the hormone the level of the hormone in the blood risesthe hormone causes + the concentration of calcium ions in the blood the level of the hormone the blood End Endocrine System UNIT 16 433Explanation / Answer
1) ADH ( Antidiuretic Hormone ) is released from hypothalamus, in response to increased blood concentration. And it is stored in kidney which is converted to Argenine vasopressin (AVP), they are responsible for increased permeability of nephrons. Which causes reabsorption of water through kidney and the blood concentration will go back to normal. Then, the gland will secrete more ADH in blood which is actually a negative feedback to stop its actual work.
