Iliopsas are the muscles used for bending and turning the thighs and the spine at level of lower back .It is the combination of psoas major and iliacus at their inferior ends .These muscles are distinct in the abdomen but usually indistinguishable in the thigh. it is originated from lumbar vertebrae and discs and then inserted on to the femurs ,any structure from lumbar spine to femur can be affected directly It is strongest of hip flexors ,important for walking,standing and running. These muscles can pull the spine out of alignment and may lead to disc herniation usually at L4 - L5 levels The anterior pelvic tilt leads to internal rotation which results in femoral internal rotation
