Above is the practice it I need help with the Exercise below

Suppose an electron is moving due west in the same magnetic field as in the "Practice It" section, at a speed of 2.20 105 m/s. Find the magnitude and direction of the magnetic force on the electron.
F =
What factors affect the magnitude of the magnetic force on the electron as it moves through the magnetic field? N, 7-- Direction --eastnorthstraight upsouthstraight downwest

Explanation / Answer

Here ,

a) as there is no magnetic force , when velocity points to north

the direction of field must be north and south

also F = q * V X B

the direction of field is North

b)

strength of magnetic force = e * v *B

strength of magnetic force = 1.602 *10^-19 * 1.38 *10^5 * 59.7 *10^-6

strength of magnetic force = 1.32 *10^-18 N

c)

Fgrav = m * g

Fgrav = 1.67 *10^-27 * 9.8

Fgrav = 1.64 *10^-26 N

Fele = e * E

Fele = 1.602 *10^-19 * 1.5 *10^2

Fele = 2.4 * 10^-17 N
