Question
These were my answers for A, B, and C. Are these sufficient? Also, I need help with D and E.
A) Family killing
B) Yes there is a relationship. The chart is correlating the types and numbers of mass killings and the years they occurred.
C) Cramer’s V because it uses df, n, and x^2.
1) (8 total points) Continuing with the mass killings dataset, I examined the relationship between the type of killing (family, public, other, robbery, etc...) and the year of the killing. So, I did a chi-square and also grabbed the measures of association for the table. Below is my output. Answer the following questions: a. ( point) What is the most common type of killing? b. 2 points) Is there a relationship between type of mass killing and year? Theorize why there is or is not a relationship. c. (1 point) Which measure of association is best to use with this chi square Phi or Cramer's V? Why? d. (2 points) What is the association between type of killing and year. Be sure to detail the strength of that association e. (2 points) Given what you found above, would you say that there was a type of killing that is strongly associated with year? a) From cross tabulation, the row marginal computed for each type of killings demonstrate Family killings with highest number 157, from 2006-2015.
b) The Pearson Chi-square, X^2= 61.034, and the p value is 0.005. The p value is less than alpha=0.05. Therefore, reject H0, to cocnlude that type of mass killings and year of killings are associated.
c) Crammer's V is suitable measure of association, because, here th ebivariate table has mor ethan 2 rows and 2 columns.
d) Crammer''s V: 0.227, the value is between 0.11 and 0.30, which indicates moderate strength among the variables.
e) Based on above findings, it cannot be concluded.
