Question
"To assess the chances of violent sexual offenders reoffending, many researchers use the Sexual Offender Risk Assessment Guide (SORAG). Two groups of violent offenders were selected from among the male inmates of a high security state prison. Group 1 was composed of violent sexual offenders, and Group 2 was composed of violent offenders whose crimes did not include a sexual component."
This question then gives me the data tables of each group, then asks if there is a significant difference between the two groups. Using IBM SPSS Statistics Database, I am to test if there is a difference; however, I do not know which test to use.
Independent Samples T-Test or Related Samples T-Test (Paired Samples T-Test) with a matched samples design.
Explanation / Answer
I will use independent samepls T test because one group is different from teh other I mean
they are related but they are indpeenent because if one person is in group 1 , that person cant' be in the second group there are 2 different things
