1.Calculate the mean,
2.median, and
3.standard deviation for the sales data.
4.What is the meaning of a standard deviation that is 2 deviations from the mean.
*Please be detailed I like to see where the answer is coming from.
Explanation / Answer
1.The mean is:
(16500+...+48900)/4
=23100
2.Arrange the data in ascending order:
12000,15000,16500,48900
The median is (15000+16500)/2=15750
3.The standard deviation is:
root over sum over (xi-x bar)^2/n-1
=root over[(16500-23100)^2+...+(48900-23100)^2]/3
=17301.44
4.The meaning a standard deviation that is 2 deviations from the mean is:
23100-2*17301.44=-11502.88
