Question
If my final is 20% of the lecture grade, and the lecture grade is 60% of the overall grade, how much is the final worth overall?
If quizzes are worth 10% of the lecture grade, and the lecture is 60% of the overall grade, how much are each of the four quizzes overall? Is the number different if you figure each quiz is 2.5% of the 60% versus all four quizzes being 10% of the 60%?
I hope that makes sense... I'm sure I'm wording it strangely.
I'm not really concerned about what I have to make, I have an idea about that. I want to know how to solve this because I have an app that lets you weigh each category but it doesn't let you separate grades within one class into lab (which is 40% of the overall grade) and lecture grades (60% of the overall grade), it all counts towards the overall grade.
Explanation / Answer
given final is 20% of the lecture grade, and the lecture grade is 60% of the overall grade
final worth =(20/100)*(60/100) overall grade=(1200/10000) of over all grade=12/100 of overall grade =12% of overall grade
given quizzes are worth 10% of the lecture grade, and the lecture is 60% of the overall grade
so quizzes are (10/100)*(60/100) of overall grade=(600/10000)=6/100 of overall grade =6%overall grade
if each quiz is 2.5%
each quiz worth (2.5/100)*(60/100)=15/10000=1.5% of overall . grade
four quizzes worth 1.5*4=6% of overall grade
so both are same
