Turkcell 3G 15:39 j8bk61lqkb8187 1 of 2 ISE 344-Fall 2017 HOMEWORK I (Due Date: 10 Oct. 2017) I. Name several entities, attributes, activities, events, and state variables for the following a. A fast-Sood restaurant b. A taxicab company with 10 taxis e. An aulomobile assembly linc 2. Coesider the fellowing manufacturing sysiem where two distinct types ef parts ane processed on two distinct machines located at the first station and then inspected by an inspector at a second workstation. Type I parts are processed only on machine 1 but type 2 parts can be processed on both machine 1 and machine 2 A pant emers the system and waits until it is its turn to be processed on its comesponding machine. For type 2 parts, if both machines are idle, then the part is processed in machine 2. After processing on a machine is completed, they contine to the second workstation where they ae inspected. At the inspection station the parts are classified as Good,or Repair. Goed parts depart the system; and Repair parts are recycled back to the machines where they are reworked (Use the given scenarios below to classify the status of a particular inspected The waiting parts are ordered at both the machine and the inspoction station. Assume that there is a single qucue for the machine, whenever the machine bocomes idle the part with the highest priority in the queue seizes the machine (same holds for the inspector). The Type I parts have priority over the Type 2 parts within the qucuc. The finst portion of te gorue contains any Type I parts, oedered according to arival at the qucue. The Type2 parts follow the Type I parts, again oedered according to their sogaence of arrival. The priority schome is non-preemptive; that is, if a Type 2 part is being processed when a Typ 1 part arrives, processing is not interrupled. The repairable parts returned to the machine gueue have the lowest priority. These parts wailt behind any regular Type I and 2 parts and are ordered according to the time at which they re-emer the qucuc. This same priority scheme is used for re-inspection of the reworked parts. Thus there are three distinct classes of peionity at both machine and inspector queuex: Type 1, Type 2, and Repairable. The inspection time foe each part, regardless of type oe rework status is 2 minutes. Machines (located at the farst workstation) are idle and inspector (available at the second station) is idle at time . The first arrival is at time 0 and Type 1. Interarrival times are minute and the arrival stream is giExplanation / Answer
