d. The formula for everage speed is 2s1s2 / (s1 + s2)

= 2*7*2 / (7 + 2)

= 28/9

= 3.11 miles/hr

Another way to calculate is total distance / total time

= (4+4) / (4/7+2)

= 8/(18/7)

= 3.11 miles/hr
