Let x liters of 30 % orange juice be mixed with y liters of 10 % orange juice to get 20 liters of 23 % orange juice. Then x+y = 20…(1) and 0.3x +0.1y = 0.23*20 = 4.6 or, 3x+y = 46…(2).

From the 1st equation, we get y = 20-x. On substituting this value of y in the 2nd equation, we get 3x+20-x = 46 or, 2x = 46-20 or, 2x = 26 so that x = 26/2 = 13. Then y = 20-13 = 7. Thus, 13 liters of 30 % orange juice has to be mixed (with 7 liters of 10 % orange juice to get 20 liters of 23 % orange juice).
