Question

I had been spraying vinegar on them, but I am not sure it is making a difference. So I went and collected 100 beetles and split them evenly into 4 groups. One group were given plants with no vinegar and the other groups were given plants sprayed with 20%, 50%, and 75% vinegar solution, respectively. After 1day, I counted the number dead in each group and I repeated this experiment 10 times. Name the factor(s), level(s), and response variable of th

Explanation / Answer

It is asked to solve 1e only.

Assmptions: Model: Independnet random samples. The number of death in beatles is independent of each other.

Level of measurement: Interval ratio. The number of dead beatles is measured in interval -ratio.

Populations are normally distributed. For checking nearly normal condition, plot a histogram of the data and see if it follows normal distribution without any specifc outlier or not.

Population variances are equal. To check for equal variance, plot the data of 4 groups in box-plot and see if the spread is equal.
