The typical size of a normal human liver is illustrated in the figure at the right. (The liver is the organ shown in color inside the ribcage.) Suppose that a certain medicine needs to be delivered to a patient's liver. If the amount of medicine needed by the cells of the liver is 3 g/dl of liver volume, estimate the appropriate dosage for an average patient. (You may assume that the medicine can be "targeted", that is, once the patient takes the medicine, the liver extracts all of it from the patient's circulation.) Note: 1 g (microgram) = 10-6 g and 1 dl (deciliter) = 10-1 liters. Be sure to clearly state your assumptions and how you came to the numbers you estimated, since grading on this problem will be mostly based on your reasoning, not on your answer.
