Here we are to find the area of the rectangle by finding the width.

For this we will first find the width from the given information by applying the perimeter formula of rectangle and after that we will apply the formula to find the area.

As we know that perimeter of rectangle can be found as

2(L+B).

Here , Let Length be the x

Therefore breadth will be the x-18

Applying in the formula...

2{x +(x-18)} = 104

2x + 2x - 36 =104

4x = 140

X = 140÷4

= 35

Now. We got the length that is 35cm. And breadth will be

35-18= 17cm.

Applying the rectangle area formula = L × B

= 35×17 = 595 cm2

This is the requred result.
