This week we discussed Listening and identified the following faulty listening behaviors Pseudo-listening Selective Listening Defensive Listening Ambushing Insulated Listening Insensitive Listening Stage Hogging Think about one of your most important relationships and answer the following questions. Which faulty listening behaviors do you find most annoying? What would the other person say about your most annoying listening faults? In what ways would you like to improve your listening skills with that person? What effects do you think this will have on the relationship?

Explanation / Answer

1- Most annoying according to me is Defensive Listening, as they take every remark as personal, without considering the fact that they are actually not meant for them.

2- Other person might not be interested to continue the discuss further.

3- One needs to understand that person and patiently handle him.

4- If this is handled carefully and patiently, then it will not hamper the relationship else it will directly impact their relationship.
