Any individual, group or organization who gets affected by the outcome or any activity of the project is reffered as a project stakeholder. Examples of stakeholders are creditors, government, employees etc.
people belonging to any specific group which is involved in any project to achieve some goal, are called team members.
A project sponser is the person who takes responsibility of financial securities and overall resource budget approval.He is the one who owns the opportunities and risks related to the financial outcomes of the project. Project sponser approves and funds the project but he is not responsible of takin g care to the day-to-day management.
A project manager's role is to deliver the project that is already defined.
The project sponser works for the organization and project manager works for the project sponser. Therefore the one who is ultimately responsible for the success of a project is the project sponser.
A project has signific objective to fulfill. It has a defined start and end date. But a program is series of related projects managed in a coordinated way to gain benefits.
An act of initiating, planning, executing and closing the work of a team to achieve some goal is called project management.
