5. jay had an ipod that could hold 30g of audio if it had 14% of free space and he wanted to put a movie that took up 3.2g of space did he have enough room to load it on his ipod?

Explanation / Answer

1) The total amount of money that Jim needs to save is: (79000 x 0.20) + 400 + 1100 + (79000 x 0.07) = $22,830. 2) To get a 92%, Kay needs to get: 126 questions x 0.92 = 116 questions correct. 3) If the amount of oil drops 1/6 of a quart every two weeks, then a whole quart will be gone in 12 weeks, or 3 months. So, Sue needs to add a quart of oil every three months. 4) Billy ate 8 oz. If Mia ate 15% more, then she ate (8 x 0.15) + 8 = 9.2 oz. If Jack ate 6% more than Mia, then he ate (9.2 x 0.06) + 9.2 = 9.752 oz. So, all together, they ate about 27 oz of applesauce. 5) If Jay has 30g of space and 14% of that was free, then 30 x 0.14 = 4.2 g of free space. Therefore, he has plenty of space to put the movie on his iPod.
