Question

Ok this seems simple but its got me scratching my head.

Say we want to find the average price per serving.

Origionally, I calculated it as (item price/serving size) and didan average on those numbers

Someone else summed (item price) / sum(serving size).

I did some hunting on the internet and found they both can be rightin some circumstances but I'm not sure which one would be. Since it's the price per serving of a particular item leads me tobelieve my original method is correct but again I'm not sure.

Heres the original article as to how it applies to houses...

Any help shedding some light would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
