Question
I am just learning my trig, but the class I'm in (calculus)assumes I already understand it. I'm starting to understand sine, cosine, tangent of angles but now of the questions are asking forsine, cosine, etc of "x" or "y". I don't even understand what thatmeans. Is there a relatively simple explanation? I'll give anexample of one of my questions below: Find all values of in the interval [0, 2] thatsatisfy the inequality. 2 cos(x) + 1 > 0 I am just learning my trig, but the class I'm in (calculus)assumes I already understand it. 2cos(x) = -1 cos(x)= -1/2 you can use the cosine graph to see where cos is at -1/2from there you can find out what x is! and then test the xvalues to see where it is greater than 0
