Suppose you are writing a test for a friend whom yoututor. You want it to toal 100 points. Multiple-choicequestions count 1 point, fill-in-the-blank questions count 2 points, and short-answer questions count 5 points. What are thepossible combiantions for types of these questions? Explanation / Answer

Three types of questions gives you three variables for yourequation let's use m = multiple choice (1 pt) f = fill in the blank (2 pts) e = short answer (essay) (5pts)
each question type has a point value, however the total pointswill always equal 100. Therefore: 5e + 2f + 1m = 100
As far as possible combinations there are a lot but I guessyou could make a table showing all the possible combinations. #e #f #m eqn. TEST 1 20 0 0 5(20) + 2(0) + 1(0) = 100 TEST 2 19 1 3 5(19) + 2(1) + 1(3) =100 TEST 3 19 2 1 5(19) + 2(2) + 1(1) = 100 ... etc
Sorry the table spacing got messed up, but you get the idea Ihope. Three types of questions gives you three variables for yourequation let's use m = multiple choice (1 pt) f = fill in the blank (2 pts) e = short answer (essay) (5pts)
