Question

I'm not sure exactly what this question is asking..

How many positive divisors does 6696 have?

Do i just break down 6696 into prime factors and then count howmany there are?

Explanation / Answer

Whoops! I see that your question was asking for positive divisors, not prime divisors. Okay, so we can look at it this way. We can use the example of 7000again: (2*2*2)(5*5*5)(7) = 7000 => 23 * 53 * 71 = 7000 So, since we want to count ALL of the positive divisors (even 10,or 100, or 1000, or 50, for instance) we can use this base formula.By adding a 1 to all the powers of our primes we would get 4, 4, and 2. Then we multiply these numbers together to get the total number ofpositive divisors. Hence: 4*4*2 = 32 positive divisors of 7000. Reply if you still don't get it. I hope this helps!
