x=time walking 8km/h
3 1/4-x time walking 5 km/h
8x=(3 1/4-x)5
multiply
8x= 16 1/4-5x
add 5x to each side
13x=16 1/4
divide each side by 13
x=1 1/4
3 1/4 - x = 2
8x 1 1/4 + 5 x 2 = distance walked
10+10
walked 20 km
