take m's value of 5d-22 from revised eq 1 and plug it intorevised eq 2 for all occurrence of m :
5d-22=2d+17 :
3d=39 : d=13........daughter age now take d's found value and plug it back into eitherequation....I choose eq 2 : m=2(13)+17=43......Mary's age
