(A)   182 - 177 = 5 which is 1(5) , Thus, 182 is 1 standard deviation to the right of the mean. 177 - 172 = 5 which is 1(5) , Thus 172 is 1 standard deviation to the left of the mean . Since, 172 to 182 is within 1 standard deviation of the mean, we know that 68% of the men would be between 172 to 182

(B) 187 - 177 =10 which is 2(5), Thus , 187 is 2 standard deviations to the right of the mean. 177 - 167 = 10 which is 2(5), thus, 167 is 2 standard deviations to the leaf of the mean.
