(a) What is the range for the maximum pulse rate? (b) What is the range for the lower 50% of maximum pulse rates? (c) An approximation of the maximum pulse rate for an adult is directly related to their age by the following equation. rate = 220-age How does the range of approximated maximum pulse rates compare to the range of observed maximum pulse rates of the participants? The range of approximated maximum pulse rates is Selectt the range of observed maximum pulse rates of the particpants.Explanation / Answer
a) The range of maximum pulse rate is = (Max - Min) = (195-155) = 40
b) The lower half is the data below the median(172) , the range of the lower half = (172-155) = 17
c) approxiated pulse rate :
Ratemin = 220- 57 = 163
Ratemax = 220-38 = 182
So, range = 182-163 =19
