The professor teaching the students wants to predict the Final score using one of the other assessment scores.  

(a) Which one of the other assessments should he use? Explain clearly your reasoning.  

(b Predict the Final exam score for a student who scored Z% on the assessment you answered in part (a), where Z= the last two digits of your ID. (e.g. if your ID is 0012382 then Z=82).

(c) Next semester, the professor wants to skip the Final exam completely, and instead assign course grades using his predicted Final exams score. Explain clearly why this may be unfair or inaccurate.

(d) The previous prediction is an example of doing regression analysis. List some regression analysis techniques that could be used to make predictions for the Final exam score, based on the other assessments.       

Explanation / Answer

(a) Professor will take exam with different assessments technique. He distributed some percentage to different assessment techniques and finaly aggregate the marks based on all assessments techniques. He take oral exam, seminars, practical exam, also he give some projects to students, also give some real life examples to students and tell him to implement all learning techniques to solve given problem, also he take objective type exam. And finaly he give some percentage to each assessments technique and obtain final score. Due to such assessments techniqus, there is high chance to improve students academic, practically knowledge. Also it helps to improve communication skills and also helps to improve point of view towards the real life problem.

(c) Predict final exam score using last two digits of students ID is totally wrong. Because there is no any scence to give marks for students. It is a totaly biased technique.

(d) Final exam score using last two digits of students ID is not a example of regression analysis. If professor wants to predict final exam score of student's using regression analysis then professor wants to implement multiple linear regression. In this regression we we used first semester score of students is response variable and student's IQ, spending time to study, number of lectures attended by student, students previous exam score are used as independent or explanatory varaiables to predict final exam score's of student's.
