Question
1) How would you explain the results of your overall one-way ANOVA and Tukey Pairwise comparisons to a friend with very little knowledge of statistics?
2) From the results of a one-way ANOVA, is it possible to conclude that taking the course in a hybrid format causes students to perform better? Why or why not?

1) We can say to a friend with a very little knowledge of statistics that when we look at the results of the tests.
We should focus on the confidence interval given in the test results
At the particular significan level or percentage look whether we have the value zero in the interval.
In our case when we look at the 95% CI we see that the values range from -21.158 to 6.092 for distance facetoface
-13.823 to 16.846 for hybrid to face to face
-5.028 to 23.116 for hybrid to face to face
So when ever the interval has zero value then the variable is not significant or can be ignored
In our case we can ignore all the variables
Another way to look at the results is to look atthe p value
if the p value is more than 100-955=5% then we reject or ignore the variable
In our case all the p values are higher than 0.05(5%)
2)
From the results of ANOVA we can conclude that taking the course in a hybrid format doesnot cause the student to perform better
This can be proven by the fact that the p value is greater than 5% level of significance
Also the confidence interval contains the value zero in the Tukey Simultaneous Tests for difference of means
Hence we can conclude that there is no significant difference.
