Answer: Mars and Earth have many things in common- they are both terrestrial planets with a substantial content of water, they both have a titled axis (Earth has a tilt of around 23 degrees while Mars has a title of 25 degrees), they both have seasonal changes due to this tilt and have a day-night pattern which is approximately of the same duration (a day on mars is only 39 minutes longer than the Earth!). Mars also has the same demarcation as Earth in terms of having a warmer equator and colder polar regions. Some of the geological processes on Mars similar to Earth are:
Processes like faulting, deposition, erosion, tectonic activities, volcanism and the renewed formation of crust is why Mars is the only planet that can be called similar to Earth in terms of the Geology and hence it also is one of the potential planets for human inhabitation in the future.
