The number of students born in each of the years 1991, 1992, 1993, 1999, 2000 is the same. The number of students born in each of the other years (1994-1997) is the same as well. However we observe that the total number of students born in the years (1994-1997) is double the total number of students born in the other years. a) We pick a student of the faculty at random. What is the probability that he was born between the years 1991 and 1996 included? b) We now pick a student of the faculty at random and add the last 3 digits of his year of birth together. What is the sample space for this random experiment? What is the probability that this number is greater than or equal to the sum of the last 4 digits of your McGill ID?
