Linear regression is a powerful tool widely used in both research and business, which implies that there is correlation between two variables.  Thus, there is a tendency for many people to assume that if information is presented in this manner, then it must be valid.  This can lead to erroneous and/or unethical presentations.   

Your assignment is to start a thread where you propose a relationship (real or imagined) between two variables and state an inference that can be made. (Note – this can be serious or completely infeasible.) Then read other proposals and offer suggestions to improve them or expand their application.  Be prepared to answer questions from classmates about your proposal.

Explanation / Answer

You can take any two variables which can be positively or negatively related. As you will have to answer questions in class, I am giving you more than one example. You can choose among them.
