his Question: 1 pt 60120 (5 complete) This Test: 20 pts possible Question Help * What is the difference between relative frequency and cumulative frequency? Choose the correct answer below OA. Relative trequency of a class is the proportion of the data in that class, while cumulative frequency of a class is the number of obsevations in that class O B. Relative requency of a class is the percentage of the data that falls in that class, while cumulative frequency of a class is the sum of the frequencies of that class and al previous classes c. Reatn.oquency of a class is the number of observations in that class, while cumula hve frequency of a class is the sum of all the frequencies D. There is no dference between the twoExplanation / Answer
Part I
Relative frequency : It is the ratio number of observation in a class to the total number of observation in a data set.
I.e. Propertion of the data set lies in that class.
Cumulative frequency : Cumulative frequency is a sum of frequency of that class and frequencies of all previous classes.
For Example :
Consider Class 10-20 : Relative frequency = 18/40 = .45
Cumulative frequency : 12+18=30
Correct Answer B: Relative frequency of a class is percentage of data that falls in that class while cumulative frequency of a class is the sum of frequencies of that class and all previous classes.
Part II
Minimum = 8 maximum =87 , number of classes = 6
Class width = ( maximum - minimum) / number of classes
= (87-8) /6 = 79/6 = 13.166 = 14
The classes are 8-22 , 22-36, 36-50, 50-64, 64-78, 78-91 ( since maximium frequency is 87 which is lies in the class 78-91)
Lower limit of classes are 8, 22, 36, 50, 64, 78.
Correct Answer A : 8,22,36,50,64,78
Upper limit of classes are 22, 36, 50, 64, 78, 91.
Correct Answer A : 22,36,50,64,78,91
Class Frequency Relative Frequency Cumulative frequency 0-10 12 0.30 12 10-20 18 0.45 30 20-30 10 0.25 40 Total 40 1 ---------Related Questions
