Here the dependent variable would be the number of the accidental falls among the patients. Please note that this is a continous variable
The independent variable or the predictor variable would be the number of days , which is again a continous variable
Hence we shpuld perform the linear regression analysis for our study as both dependent and independent variables are continius in nature . logistic regression can be used only when the dependent variable is categorical
Sampling strategy
we would sample all the patients who have accidently fallen and then check the number of days for which they were hospitalised. please note that we would not be interested in patients who did not fall accidentally as we want to find the relationship between the number of days hospitalised and the accidental falls
